Gastroenterologist in Wausau, WI
PERSONAL CARE PHILOSOPHY
I enjoy working with patients to make decisions together to improve their GI health. I practice all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology, but have a special interest in pancreatic and biliary diseases. I completed an extra year of training in advanced endoscopic procedures including endoscopic ultrasound, ERCP, endoscopic mucosal resection, and radiofrequency ablation.
I love living in Wausau. I grew up in Rhinelander and am excited to be back in the northwoods with my wife and children so they can experience the same things I did growing up that drew me back to the area (hunting, watersports, camping, skiing, etc). If I'm not spending time with the family, my perfect day would be a crisp October afternoon in the woods chasing grouse with my German shorthair.

The receptionist with whom I originally spoke conveyed inaccurate information about the location of the procedure in Rhinelander. That being said, she was very warm and friendly. I had a telehealth appointment with Dr. Eric Johnson, and this was the first time I met him. He was on-time to the minute, answered all of my questions and the meeting did not feel rushed. It was a great first impression.
The appointment was on time and Dr. Johnson was helpful. He suggested that I may not need the Delsacol any more so he had me start tapering off.
This provider was extremely professional, yet friendly. He took his time with me and didn't make me feel like I was on an assembly line as in a lot of healthcare facilities today. I highly recommend him.
