The Patient Experience in Response to COVID-19

What to expect when requesting and arriving for your appointment

Delivering expert digestive care and keeping our patients and staff safe and healthy is our top priority. You can expect the following when visiting us:

Guests. To limit patient and staff exposure, guests are prohibited on campus. Patients’ drivers are asked to wait in their cars. If a patient needs assistance with interpretation, mobility, or help in the medical appointment, up to one guest may be permitted. All Guests will have temperatures checked and will be required to wear a mask.

Temperature screening. All persons entering the facility, including patients, essential guests, providers, and staff will have their temperature taken and respond to all COVID-19 screening questions.

Screening questionnaire. Reception and phone staff will ask the following questions if scheduling patients within two weeks for an in-person visit, as well as upon check-in for clinic appointments:

  1. Do you have a fever (greater than 100.0), cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, or other flu-like symptoms?
  2. Have you had close contact with a person confirmed to have COVID-19 or a person that is being tested for COVID-19 within the last 14 days?

Hand sanitizing. Hand sanitizing stations are installed throughout the facility. We ask patients to utilize hand sanitizer before and after an appointment.

Masks & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). All patients are required to wear a mask in our facilities. Our physicians and employees also wear masks. Masks help reduce distribution of airborne droplets.

Social distancing. We strive to adhere to social distancing requirements recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS). Reduced waiting room seating, patient flow changes and limiting staff to certain work areas are among the measures that are in place.

Suspected exposure. If you are ill, or have had known or expected exposure to COVID-19, please call our office at 877.442.7762 to discuss your options in advance of your appointment.

Telehealth care option. We’re pleased to offer Telehealth visits for new and established patients! Learn more about Telehealth visits here.
